About the YET program

YET stands for Youth Engaged in Technology. This club is about helping youth gain computer skills needed for computer orientated careers. Some things we go over in YET is robotics, web design, and basic game design. Programs you will learn how to use will be Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Dreamweaver, (game program), mindstorm robotics, and Macromedia Fireworks.

What would I do in YET?

In the YET club, we do a broad range of things which include robotics, web design, and a little programming. We do things that are fun for all experience levels.

With robotics, we build small robots using the Lego Mindstorm kits. We program the robots using a computer program that goes along with the kit. This can be fun for experienced, as well as beginner robot programmers.

In Web Design, we design websites for different clubs and organizations. You will learn how to create these websites using Dreamweaver. Even though this is a more professional program, we will help you understand how to create the sites little by little.

With Game Design, we willlearn how to plan and design a game using the program. You can learn how to make simple, and not so simple, 2d games which will give you the skills to learn more complicated 2d, or even 3d games.
